The Kings Beat is officially two months old and we are starting to hit our stride. It has already been a wild ride with the standard Kings’ ups and downs. The team is currently in the 10th seed in the Western Conference playoff chase and despite the rollercoaster ride we are all on, they are just a game under .500 (10-11) during the Alvin Gentry era.
To celebrate another month of coverage, we are ready for our second Off the Record with The Kings Beat virtual Happy Hour on Thursday, Jan. 6 from 5:30-7.
This is an opportunity for you, the reader, listener and watcher of The Kings Beat to have an evening of unlimited access to both Sean Cunningham and I, as well as special guests.
ESPN 1320's Damian Barling joined the first Happy Hour as a surprise guest and added an incredible amount to the conversation. We've added another heavy hitter for Thursday's festivities.
Former Kings beat writer turned national writer, Sam Amick, is joining the program for what should be another entertaining evening. Sam is well-known in these parts from his time with the Sacramento Bee and he has a huge voice on the national scene with his current work at The Athletic.
While this email is going out to all subscribers of The Kings Beat, only those with a premium subscription will get the official Zoom link on Thursday. It's not too late to jump on board and get the invite!
If you are available to join, respond to this email or send me a note at [email protected] with an RSVP. You’re also welcome to add a question or two to your response and we will try to answer some of these when we meet up virtually on Thursday!
I will send out a reminder on Thursday, with a Zoom link for the event. If you missed the first one, then you missed out. Clear your schedule for the sequel because it's going to be a great time.
Thank you again for all the support,
-James
