News and Notes: Kings return home for an important four game stretch
Kings face series of playoff teams on important homestand
The Sacramento Kings are having a good week. They’ve rattled off four straight wins, the last of which came without star guard De’Aaron Fox. They have gained some much needed separation from the teams chasing them in the standings with an incredibly important four game home stand staring them in the face.
It starts Friday night at Golden 1 Center against the Clippers and continues with visits from the Timberwolves, Pelicans and Knicks over the next week. It’s a moment where the Kings need to establish home court dominance against four playoff caliber teams.
The Clippers roll into Golden 1 on the second night of a back-to-back and their injury report is tough. Kawhi Leonard, Norman Powell and Marcus Morris are officially out and Ivaca Zubac is questionable. This is an opportunity for the Kings to push a division rival further down in the standings, and with a 2-1 advantage in the season series, the Kings could seal another tie breaker against a team from LA.
While the games will come fast and furious over this stretch, the team seems laser focused on what is ahead. On Thursday, they opened the practice facility back up for for the first time in a week.
This team practices more than the average team, so we’ll have more sessions in the coming days to mull over. Here is the latest on the team as they sit at 36-25, in third place in the Western Conference standings.
