The other guy.
De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have done a media circuit here in the second half of the season. The All-Star pairing have made their way from one sports show to the next, found themselves the subject of one national feature after another and they even landed on the cover of Slam Magazine.

It’s well-deserved and the exposure is long overdue for both, but the breakout 2022-23 Sacramento Kings season is about so much more than two individuals.
While the focus has been on the potential for Fox and Sabonis to make an All-NBA team, or Keegan Murray to earn an All-Rookie first team, or Mike Brown to win Coach of the Year, or Malik Monk to take home the Sixth Man of the Year, there is another Kings player who has gone about his business, like he always does.
It may go unnoticed, but Harrison Barnes has played in all 80 games this season for the Kings. He’s second on the team in minutes played and fourth in scoring. More than that, he is the rock that this squad relies on behind the scenes.
A pro’s pro, Barnes’ contributions to this Kings season may be overshadowed for most on the outside, but inside the walls of the locker room, Barnes is the guy.
“He’s the most professional player I’ve ever seen,” Domantas Sabonis told The Kings Beat. “He comes in early, gets his work in, does whatever he needs to do. He sets the example for the young guys, you know. He’s definitely pushed all of us to be more of what we are.”
