Week in review: Kings secure third best Western Conference record heading into All-Star break
Fox makes All-Star team, stars for Kings in a wild week
Kings record: 32-24
Kings record on the week: 3-2
More up than down.
In a roller coaster ride of a week that included five games and the NBA trade deadline, the Kings managed to survive and even thrive.
The week didn't exactly start on a high note. With De'Aaron Fox away from the team due to the birth of his son, the Kings dropped their second straight game last Sunday in New Orleans.
Playing without Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas, Trey Murphy stepped into a scoring role for the Pelicans and lit the Kings up for a 30-point night on 9-of-11 shooting. CJ McCollum chipped in 24 points and Willie Hernangomez added 22 off the bench as the Pelicans drubbed the Kings by a final of 136-104.
Malik Monk scored 16 off the bench for Sacramento, but this was an embarrassing loss against a team the Kings could face down the road in a playoff series.
