Week in review: Kings searching for first win, change at the guard coming?

Kings go 0-2 in first week of preseason schedule

The Sacramento Kings’ preseason schedule continues on Sunday with a matchup against a familiar foe in the Golden State Warriors. Sacramento is off to a rough 0-2 start, but it’s preseason and there is very little cause for concern.

In a twist, head coach Mike Brown confirmed to the media that he will start Chris Duarte at the shooting guard position on Sunday instead of Kevin Huerter.

Duarte has been seen wearing a black jersey in practice over the last two days, which is usually reserved for starters. On Saturday, Brown discussed the change at length with the media.

“Duarte will start tomorrow in Kevin’s spot,“ Brown said. “It’s normal, for me at least, to experiment and take a different look at different guys, with different lineups.“

Brown was pressed on the issue later in the media session and gave a more complete answer for the change, even if it might be a temporary swap during preseason.
