Week in review: Kings notch 40th win, can they push for 50?

Kings continue hot streak coming out of All-Star break

Kings record: 40-26

Kings record on the week: 3-0

The question coming out of the All-Star break was simple. How will the Kings respond when the schedule gets more difficult and the intensity of the games elevates to playoff level?

After posting an 8-1 record over their last nine, the Kings have shaken the "hunted" tag. They are hunters and clearly they aren't satisfied with just snapping the franchise's playoff drought.

Normally we break the week down by starting at the beginning and finishing with the most recent game, but Saturday night's win in Phoenix was historical.

For most NBA franchises, 40 wins isn't some mystical plateau, but for the Kings, it marks only the ninth time in 38 years since moving to Sacramento, and the first time since the 2005-06 season the team has achieved the feat.
