Week in review: Kings drop two on the road, ready for more home cooking

Kings' streak ends, but team posts another .500 week

Kings record: 10-8

Kings record on the week: 2-2

The week started on a high note with the Kings picking up their sixth straight win over Marvin Bagley and the Detroit Pistons. Mike Brown wasn't happy with his team's defensive effort against a young, talented Pistons squad, but the end result was a 137-129 victory.

De'Aaron Fox scored 33 to lead all scorers. Harrison Barnes chipped in 27 points and nine rebounds and Kevin Huerter came alive late to finish with 24. Rookie Jaden Ivey paced the Pistons with 24 points and Marvin Bagley finished with 15 points in his first game back in Sacramento after three-plus seasons in a Kings uniform. He also collected a few thousand boos from the Golden 1 Center crowd.

Looking for their seventh straight victory, the Kings traveled to Memphis to face Ja Morant and the Grizzlies. Coming off an injury, Morant took a while to get it going, but he put up a monster finish and almost willed the Grizz to a win.

With the Kings up three and just seconds remaining on the clock, Fox fouled Morant on a last second 3-point attempt. Morant missed the first freebie, hit the next and then was called for a lane violation to help preserve the win for Sacramento.
