Week in review: Kings on the brink of clinching NBA playoff berth

Kings could clench playoff spot as early as Sunday

Kings record: 45-29

Kings record on the week: 2-2

It's happening. The Kings are on the verge of snapping their 16-year playoff drought and the celebration is about to begin.

The week didn't start off with a lot of promise. After winning three straight to open their road trip, the Kings walked into Vivint Arena to face a Utah Jazz team sitting out three important pieces in Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen.

Despite playing shorthanded, the Jazz used a zone defense that threw the Kings' high-powered offense out of whack. Rookie Ochai Agbajo lit the Kings up for a career-high 27 points and Kelly Olynyk added a near triple-double performance as Utah stunned the Kings by a final of 128-120.

De'Aaron Fox tried to will his team to victory, finishing with 37 points. Rookie Keegan Murray dropped in 22 points and Domantas Sabonis missed a triple-double by just one assist as the Kings ended their road trip 3-1.
